Fall Favourites

I can’t believe we’re already in October! It always seems like the summer and fall fly by, while the winter just slows to a crawl…Luckily, there are many a warm drink, cute outfits and bright colours to bring tons of joy throughout the season.

Here are some of the things I’ve been loving this fall!

Nars blush in Orgasm

I’ve had this blush and bronzer duo for several years and as you can see, I have used up the bronzer, but hadn’t really touched the blush much. I think I got it because everyone always says what a cult classic Orgasm is and I just didn’t really get it.

But I took it with me on a recent trip and discovered just how beautiful the blush really is. It’s this kind of really distinctive, unique bright pink. It seems like a kind of peachy-pink when you look at it in the pan, but then it seems more cool toned, the more you put on. I think it’s the combination of the super warm glow it gives with the cool pink that makes the colour so unique, at least in my collection.

Full disclosure, I’m not usually a fan of gold highlights. I prefer my glow to be more on the champagne side, but somehow, it works for me in this blush. I finally realized how pretty it is and have been using it non-stop!

I’ve had a sample size of this rosy lipstick for a few years now. Yes, you read right. This teeny, tiny deluxe sample size has been in my collection since before we bought our house! That’s because I realized how much I loved it very early on and my bad habit with things that I love is, I end up never using it for fear of running out! I always feel like I need to save my loves for “special occasions” only.

But I’ve accepted how dumb that is and I’ve been using it all the time now. I just love how it gives my lips a really natural, but distinctive boost. It’s like a very warm, mid-toned pink on me, with just the right amount of brown. I like applying it very lightly, almost like a stain, with a blurred lip line, which makes it look even more natural on me, a true “my-lips-but-better” kind of a feel.

The full-sized version is already in my Sephora cart, ready for the next sale!

Simons Parkhurst burgundy beret Montreal lifestyle fashion beauty blog

Parkhurst burgundy beret

Believe it or not, I’d been itching to whip out my burgundy beret as early as August! But I don’t want to overuse things and get sick of them before the season’s over. It’s like getting a stomachache from eating too much candy, which I am sadly all too familiar with… I just wanted to pace myself a bit.

I don’t know what it is about berets. They are just oh-so chic and playful, with a touch of vintage flare. You guys know, I love me some vintage-inspired menswear for fall and a beret just finishes off the look to perfection. Last year, I only had the burgundy beret, but I just got a new grey one that I’ve rotated into the mix. I may or may not be interested in getting more colours, maybe even some with a pompom or something, which begs the question: how many berets is too many berets?

Patton Glen's Par 3 Golf Course Montreal lifestyle blog

Golfing

I’ve only been golfing twice in my entire life and I have to say…I AM OBSESSED! I don’t know what it is, I just find being on a golf course so enjoyable. It’s like strolling around a tranquil, idyllic park. And you get to whack a ball and watch it go super far! Well, in my case it’s more like, whack a ball and watch it bounce 20 feet away from you or land in a pond. But I still like it.

Let’s be honest, I don’t need yet another hobby. I’ve already got so many….But I really do love trying new things and even if I’m terrible at it, I find a lot of enjoyment in the challenge of learning a new skill. And in my opinion, there are very few feelings in life that are as satisfying as realizing how much you’ve improved at something after working really hard at it.

Luckily for us, there’s a relatively cheap Par 3 course near our house that rents out clubs, too, all for only $20! Although, the golf season will be ending soon, I’m gonna to make the most of it and try to practice as much as I can before the snow gets here.

P.S. does anyone in the Montreal area know where I can get used clubs for cheap?
