The problem with fall mums is how fast they peter out, but at least they're inexpensive to replace 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, I would ordinarily never include purple in a fall display, but these perennial mums are so gorgeous, I have a plan to plant them out in the front garden later, in a spot that's been a struggle to fill.

Liking Chappelle Roan when she's actually popular at the moment, and embracing the witch-y aesthetic is truly the coolest I've ever been. And trust me, I know...that's not even that cool!! 😅 Also, is cosplaying as a witch at the pumpkin patch cultural appropriation??? I was gonna go either cottage core or basic white bitch, but the darkness was calling me 😭 Also shout out to my children who see me trying to take a photo and immediately rush over, not to pose and take a sweet photo with me (which I love 🥺) but to Godzilla their way into the shot for no reason 😭😭😭

You're absolutely not going to believe me, but I DID NOT make Hazel wear a sparkly black tulle tutu to match my dress 😭 I've been experimenting with leaving random "costume-y" things I find at the dollar store around (fairy wings, unicorn headbands, tutus etc.) to try and sus out what she might agree to wear for Halloween. It's a challenge because she has historically hated new/different things on her body, especially her head/face, so I'm at a loss as to what to dress her as for Halloween. Well, this morning, she put the sparkly black tutu on herself and is happily prancing around the house in it 😅 If anything, I dressed like her to match her witchy energy 🧙🏻

September and the dahlias (and garden spiders) have really taken over! They've really exploded in the past few weeks, which is good because the other annuals have really fizzled out, and everything else is slowing way down. Next year will be the year I finally figure out a staking system so they aren't flopping all over the place. And maybe I should plant fewer??? Although I love the abundant, overflowing cottage garden look, the powdery mildew is really out of control...also rust and black spot 🙈 It's crazy because it hasn't rained in like three weeks! The garden succumbs, every year 😭

It's the first day of fall tomorrow, but you wouldn't know it around our house. It's been fall since September 1st 😂 I've said it before and I'll say it again, after Christmas, fall is my favourite decor season. I'm too scared to count all the fake pumpkins I have 😭😳 I already know it's an unreasonable amount 🙈 Am I going to do anything about it? I dunno, probably get some more 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's been almost a year since the facade of wester

It's been almost a year since the facade of western progressiveness, democracy and decency has been shattered for me. Since I've learned about the vast Palestinian history under subjugation, and unlearned an entire lifetime of anti-Palestinian propaganda. Since I've learned to look at corporate media more critically, since I've started deconstructing from all systems of oppression. Since I've had the images of countless mothers and fathers cradling their dead babies burned into my brain forever. It's so twisted how Palestinians have saved my soul, but I can't save them. No amount of money I give or my piddly social media reach or angry emails I've sent Justin Trudeau/Melanie Joly seem enough to stop the bombs from dropping. No amount of screaming into the void seems to have educated anyone, changed anyone's mind, opened an ounce of intellectual curiosity in them or moral courage...All this to say, I still won't stop. I won't stop learning and deconstructing. I won't stop screaming into the void. It's all connected. The Palestinian struggle, the stranglehold white supremacy has on the entire world (and so-called Canada), all of us drowning in late-stage capitalism...I just want to know I'm not alone. And I want you to know you're not alone. #freepalesti̇ne
