Spring Beauty Favourites

Lorac Unzipped Palette

This is an older product that I’ve been reaching for a lot in the past little while. I’ve been on a real pink kick lately. It may have something to do with how I dyed (or attempted to dye) my hair pink around the end of February/beginning of March. If I had to pick just one palette to keep forever, it would probably be this one. I love pretty much every colour and the pans are so big, I doubt I’ll ever run out.

Speaking of pink kick…this is a great palette to ring in the spring with as well! My favourite part of it is probably the blushes. There’s a shimmery peach and a deep, dusty, matte pink. They are really pretty on their own but I like mixing them together for a dramatic flush.

Chanel Rouge Allure Ink – Amoureux

This is my first ever luxury makeup product and it did not disappoint. The formula reminds me a lot of NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream. It’s very moussey, has a bit of slip to it and dries down completely matte. But one major difference is how moisturizing it is for being a matte lip product. I have never experienced anything like it. Even regular cream lipsticks sometimes get drying after a while, but this was comfortable on my lips all day long. The colour Amoureux is the perfect my-lips-but-better colour for me, a sort of warm, peachy pink.

My first thought upon trying this was “meh.” It seemed really subtle, too subtle. Also, it’s very waxy/sticky and never completely dries or sets. Repeated daily use might result in breakouts for my sensitive skin. But I caught a glimpse of myself in the afternoon sun in the bathroom the first day I used it and oh baby…this is a highlighter like no other. When the light hits your cheekbones at a certain angle, it gives off such a a true, intense, glossy look, which I am obsessed with lately. So many highlighters have too much colour or shimmer, but this really makes your skin look wet. I love it!

Stila Shade & Shape Custom Contour Duo – Medium

I have been using this almost every day since I got it. For some reason, I am super into the cream contour/bronzing lately. Maybe because coming out of winter, I tend to be the palest I’ll be all year, it’s nice to add a bit of warmth to the skin and the colour of the medium contour in this duo is a perfect neutral brown. I don’t really use the other colour in this duo, but I’m obsessed with the contour part of it!
