With summer just around the corner, I have my closet officially switched out and I’m rediscovering old favourites that I haven’t seen in, well… A good nine months or so! I wore this ensemble on a day out in the old port recently, and looking back at the photos, I realized, this is basically a roundup of my summer wardrobe essentials!
A floral dress is undoubtedly on the top of the list. I haven’t counted how many I have but let’s just say, it’s one of my weaknesses. I even bust them out from time to time in the winter with a sweater and tights. God I love a good floral print! A light jacket is a must as well, and one of my go-tos is this casual jean jacket. It gives off such retro vibes and goes with everything!
For accessories, I have one of my favourite styles of footwear, wedged espadrilles. They are so comfy and add a splash of boho to any outfit. These are (as you can tell) frighteningly old. I can’t even remember where or when I got them. I’ve been meaning to replace them but a good pair of beige/nude espadrilles that aren’t too expensive is surprisingly hard to come by.
And finally my sunnies are a simple pair I picked up at Forever 21 a year or two ago that I just realized matches my hair almost exactly. That was an accident! And rounding out any summer ensemble is a light purse, perfect for your phone, some cards and a lipstick. I found this one in a vintage shop in Edinburgh.
One of my summer essentials not pictured is a hat. I am a huge advocate of sun protection. I’m talking sunscreen daily, even in the winter, and hats whenever I spend more than 10 minutes outside. I just always take my hat off for photos cause they hide your face too much!
So there you have it! A roundup of my summer wardrobe essentials. What do you wear to death every summer? I’d love to know!
